About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, safety-focused Leading Hand to join our Katherine-based team.
In this role, you will work across a diverse portfolio of civil projects, providing on-site leadership while supporting the safe and efficient delivery of works throughout regional and metropolitan Northern Territory.
Working alongside crews and project teams, you will lead by example, assisting with daily work planning, coordinating site activities, and supporting team members to achieve high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Regular travel and site deployment opportunities form part of this position.
The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in the safe and productive operation of various civil plant machinery, along with the ability to provide guidance and direction to field-based crews.
Please note this is not a FIFO role, and the successful candidate will be Katherine based.

What's Required:
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or senior operator capacity, with the ability to coordinate crews and lead by example.
Licensing & Compliance:
A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence.
Mobility: The capability and flexibility to travel and work away from home routinely.
Safety Alignment: A strong, demonstrated commitment to achieving a 'Zero Harm' workplace.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in road construction, with a strong emphasis on road rehabilitation and maintenance.
Tickets & Technical Knowledge: Relevant plant tickets, strong operational knowledge and basic mechanical aptitude.
Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with crews, supervisors and project stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
To ensure the safety of our operations, appointment to this position is subject to passing a pre-employment medical and fitness evaluation.
All personnel must also adhere to our company drug and alcohol policy, which includes routine testing throughout the duration of employment.
