Opportunity to grow beyond a traditional EA role
Advantage Air is looking for an exceptional person to work closely with the directors and founders of our business.
This isn't necessarily a conventional Executive Assistant role, and we're not necessarily looking for a conventional EA.
We're looking for someone intelligent, organised and highly capable who enjoys working in a senior decision making environment and making things happen.
Someone who can keep track of what has been agreed, follow things through, deal comfortably with senior people and gradually take on more responsibility as they learn the business.
This role also has the potential to be a step to a management role with the company.
About Advantage Air
Established in ****, Advantage Air is an Australian developer, manufacturer and wholesaler of air conditioning and smart home control products.
Our products include MyAir, one of the world's leading smart air conditioning control systems, and MyPlaceIQ, our newer smart home platform which is at an earlier stage of what we believe can be a similar growth journey.
We now operate across six cities in two countries, but we haven't become a typical corporate organisation along the way.
We set high standards and expect a lot from ourselves, but we're informal, straightforward and down to earth.
People who thrive here tend to be intelligent, curious and flexible.
They enjoy being challenged, want to keep learning and don't need layers of hierarchy or formality to get things done.
When the fit is right, people tend to feel they've found their home.
Last year we were a finalist in "The Australian's best places to work".
The role
You'll work closely with the senior leaders and founders on the most important aspects of the business.
A big part of the role is helping turn conversations and decisions into action.
That will include things such as:
Following up commitments and actions arising from meetings
Keeping track of priorities and making sure important things don't disappear
Arranging and coordinating meetings
Preparing information and helping the directors stay organised
Communicating and following up with people across the business
Taking ownership of problems and getting them resolved
Becoming involved in projects and business initiatives as your knowledge and capability grow
We don't expect the boundaries of the role to remain fixed.
If you're capable and interested, we'll give you more and develop your career further in areas where your strengths and interests lie.
Who we're looking for
There are two quite different backgrounds that could work particularly well.
You might already be a high-performing Executive Assistant who knows you're capable of more and want greater involvement in the running of a business.
Or you might be a business graduate or early-career skilled with strong organisational ability who wants an unusual opportunity to work directly with experienced business owners and learn quickly, providing an excellent foundation for a role in management.
Either way, we're more interested in your capability and potential than whether your CV follows a particular path.
You'll probably be someone who:
Is intelligent and learns quickly
Has exceptional follow-through
Is naturally organised without being bureaucratic
Notices what needs doing and acts on it
Is comfortable dealing with different personalities
Communicates clearly and directly
Is confident enough to ask questions and challenge something when it doesn't make sense
Can handle confidential information with discretion
Enjoys responsibility and wants more of it
Is flexible, transparent and down to earth
You won't enjoy this role if you need every task clearly defined before you start or prefer to stay within a narrow job description.
Where could it lead?
This is an unusual opportunity to work alongside the senior leadership of a successful, growing Australian company and see first-hand how decisions are made and how the business operates.
For someone with the ability and ambition, we see the role as a potential springboard into a management position within Advantage Air.
If this sounds like you please apply with your resume and a cover letter telling us a little about yourself, why this particular role appeals to you, and why you think you'd fit the way we work to ••••@advantageair.com.au
