Board Secretary
Remote within Western Australia | Flexible / Casual Engagement | Travel Required as Needed
We are seeking an organised, reliable and skilled Board Secretary to provide governance and administrative support to our Board.
This is a flexible role that can be performed remotely from anywhere within Western Australia, with occasional travel required to attend Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Roebourne.
About the Role
The Board Secretary will play an important role in supporting the effective operation of the Board and ensuring key governance, meeting and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating and preparing for Board meetings, including agendas, papers and supporting documentation
Attending Board meetings when required, including travel at short notice where necessary
Taking accurate meeting minutes and maintaining appropriate Board records
Following up on actions and decisions arising from Board meetings
Assisting with governance and compliance requirements, including relevant reporting to the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC)
Coordinating and attending the Annual General Meeting in Roebourne, including assisting with set-up, documentation and meeting proceedings
Speaking and presenting at the AGM where required




Providing general administrative and governance support to the Board and its members
Maintaining confidentiality and appropriately handling sensitive Board information
About You
We are looking for someone who is dependable, well organised and confident working with Board members and senior stakeholders.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience as a Board Secretary, Company Secretary, governance officer or in a similar role
Strong minute-taking, written communication and administrative skills
An understanding of Board governance and compliance obligations
Experience with ORIC and Aboriginal corporations, or a willingness to quickly develop this knowledge
Confidence communicating and presenting in Board and AGM environments
The ability to work independently and remotely
Flexibility to travel within Western Australia, sometimes at short notice
A professional approach and a high level of discretion and confidentiality
Location & Travel
The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Western Australia.
The successful applicant must be willing and able to travel when required, including attending the AGM in Roebourne and Board meetings where in-person attendance is necessary.
