A major bank in is seeking a Senior Cloud Kubernetes Specialist for a migration project. This is a 12 month contract likley to extend. Role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne - 2 days in the office.

You’ll work closely with application teams to modernize infrastructure, improve scalability, and drive cloud-native adoption.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and optimize Kubernetes clusters in AWS
- Lead migration of applications from EC2-based deployments to Amazon EKS
- Partner with application teams to containerize workloads and improve deployment pipelines
- Implement best practices for scalability, reliability, and security in EKS
- Automate infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and performance issues
- Drive observability (logging, monitoring, alerting)

Required Experience

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, etc.)
- Deep Kubernetes expertise (cluster architecture, networking, scaling, RBAC)
- Experience migrating workloads from EC2 to Kubernetes/EKS is highly favoured.
- Experience working directly with development/application teams
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Robust terraform
- AI experience highly desirable
- Kubernetes certification desired- CKA
- AWS Certified Solutions architect – desirable
