Our client, Norwest, is a long-established, family-run company which has been operating in the Karratha region for close to 30 years.
The company can be summarised into the following internal structure, offering plant hire, civil contracting, material supplies and transport services.
Norwest has been involved in some of the largest projects conducted in the area, along with supporting many locally owned and operated Pilbara-based businesses, providing safe, practical solutions to the highest quality standards.
We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic with strong civil and transportation experience to work within our growing Civil Construction & Logistics Company.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, servicing, maintenance and inspections of trucks, trailers, heavy vehicles and associated equipment, ensuring all machinery and vehicles remain safe, reliable and operational.
The role will involve working across Norwest's civil construction and logistics operations, including onsite servicing and breakdown support.
Key Responsibilities
Perform repairs, maintenance and inspections on trucks, trailers and associated equipment.
Accurately identify, diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
Carry out onsite servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Conduct inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure equipment is protected and fit for operation.
Work on a range of heavy diesel vehicles and equipment, including Kenworth, Isuzu and Cummins systems.




Perform maintenance and repairs on CAT plant and associated heavy equipment.
Maintain accurate records, paperwork and service documentation.
Liaise with long-established customers as required in relation to servicing and mechanical requirements.
Order and follow up parts as required to complete repairs and maintenance.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures and relevant workplace requirements.
Assist with maintaining the reliability and availability of Norwest's fleet and equipment.
Perform other relevant mechanical duties as directed by management.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A trade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or equivalent.
Significant prior experience working as a Heavy Duty / Diesel Motor Mechanic.
Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience.
Strong experience working with heavy vehicles and diesel equipment.
Experience with Kenworth, Isuzu, Cummins or similar heavy vehicle systems.
CAT plant experience is essential.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience undertaking servicing, repairs and breakdown maintenance.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Availability to perform overtime when required.
Air Conditioning Ticket is desirable.
