We are seeking an experienced and confident nursing leader who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, resilience and professionalism while leading hospital operations after hours.

You will be a collaborative and approachable leader who can build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams, support staff through complex situations and maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach during periods of high operational demand. You will be recognised for your integrity, accountability and ability to make timely decisions that balance patient safety, workforce needs and organisational priorities.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.

- Provide an example of a complex clinical or operational incident you managed in a senior nursing leadership role (for example, clinical deterioration, a serious incident, behavioural emergency or resource escalation). What actions did you take, and what was the outcome for patients, staff and the organisation?

- Describe a time when you coordinated hospital operations during a period of significant workforce, patient flow or capacity pressures. How did you prioritise competing demands, engage stakeholders and ensure safe patient care?

If you’d like more details, we’re here to help.
