Position: Maintenance Person
Status: Full time fixed-term until 18th December 2026
Salary: $76,359.14 (base salary inclusive off all allowances/loadings), plus super
Service name: Wadeye Kardu Darrikardu Numida Hostel
Location: Wadeye, Northern Territory 0822

Located in the small coastal community of Wadeye, the Kardu Darrikardu Numida Hostel is a 24/7 operating service. Living in Wadeye truly gives you the opportunity to experience and understand the benefit and challenges of living and working in remote Australia. Working alongside locally employed staff, you can learn from the local Aboriginal people. All while being supported by a small team, where your ideas and input can have genuine impact on the service and community.

What you’ll do

- Undertake minor repairs to the buildings, residences, fixtures and furniture as requested
- Maintain and develop the site and gardens including lawn mowing, weed control and leaf raking
- Maintain a high level of cultural understanding
- Maintain the swimming pool following One Tree's procedure
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative workplace culture
- Perform other duties as required

You will also be required to act as Work Health and Safety Officer.

What you’ll need





- Be eligible to work in Australia and willing to move to Wadeye, NT
- Satisfactory National Police Clearance
- Current NT Working with Children Card
- Hold a current driver's license
- General knowledge and previous experience with maintenance and garden
- Knowledge of health and safety rules and legislation
- Ability to work independently
- Experience working with children (desirable)
