About the role
ISN Psychology is seeking an Senior OHS, Risk and Assurance Officer to join our team in Melbourne. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in safeguarding our organisation, employees, and stakeholders by managing occupational health and safety compliance, risk assessments, and assurance processes. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring OHS policies and procedures whilst ensuring the organisation meets all regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This position is integral to our commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace environment.

Key responsibilities

- Developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with legislative requirements

- Conducting regular workplace risk assessments and hazard identification to identify potential safety issues

- Investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and producing detailed reports with corrective action recommendations

- Coordinating and delivering OHS training and induction programmes to all staff members

- Monitoring workplace compliance with OHS legislation, standards, and internal policies

- Liaising with external bodies, including regulatory authorities and workers' compensation insurers

- Maintaining detailed records of incidents, injuries, and OHS audits

- Conducting workplace inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and safety standards

- Developing and implementing assurance frameworks to monitor and report on OHS performance

- Providing advice and support to management and staff on OHS matters and risk mitigation strategies

- Preparing OHS reports and metrics for senior management and board oversight

What we're looking for

- A relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety,



risk management, or a related discipline

- Professional certification such as CMIOSH, AIOSH membership, or equivalent OHS qualification

- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an OHS, risk and assurance, or compliance role

- Strong knowledge of Australian OHS legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011

- Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and developing risk mitigation strategies

- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels

- Strong organisational and project management capabilities

- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Office

- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilities

- Commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making
