About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Engineering Lead – Major Maintenance to provide specialist railway engineering expertise, leadership and management for major maintenance activities across the Public Transport Authority's rail network.

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring major maintenance and asset renewal projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements and PTA policies. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you will lead engineering assurance activities, oversee scope development, design and construction outcomes, and support the successful integration and commissioning of rail infrastructure assets.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

- Relevant professional engineering qualifications eligible for Professional Membership of Engineers Australia
- Demonstrated experience planning, designing and delivering complex urban railway infrastructure projects
- Extensive railway engineering and track construction expertise
- Strong knowledge of rail systems engineering principles and practices
- Significant experience in contract management, consultant management and project delivery
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards, engineering codes and railway safety requirements
- Proven leadership capability with the ability to coordinate and influence multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
