FAF Woodwork & Design is now looking for a Joiner to join their team.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

- Study architectural drawings, specifications and design plans to determine the materials, dimensions, construction methods and installation requirements for custom joinery projects.
- Select and prepare suitable timbers, veneers, engineered boards, laminates and other materials based on project specifications, finishes and design requirements.
- Measure, mark and set out materials accurately using drawings, templates and precision measuring equipment to ensure components are produced to the required dimensions.
- Cut, shape and machine timber and other materials using woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools to manufacture custom joinery components.
- Prepare and cut timber joints, including mitres, rebates, dados, mortise and tenon joints and other appropriate connections required for bespoke joinery.
- Assemble prepared timber and manufactured components to produce cabinetry, furniture, shelving, wall panelling, doors and other custom fittings ready for installation.
- Fit and install hardware and associated components, including hinges, drawer runners, handles and other fixtures,



ensuring correct alignment, operation and finish.
- Sand, prepare and finish timber and joinery surfaces to achieve the required appearance, quality and specifications for high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Install completed joinery and fittings onsite, checking dimensions, levels, alignment and overall fit against drawings and project requirements.
- Repair, modify or adjust existing timber fittings and joinery where required, including alterations undertaken as part of renovation and refurbishment projects.
- Work with complementary materials such as veneers, plastic laminates, perspex and metal components where incorporated into custom joinery designs.

About you:

- At least 1 year of experience as a Joiner;
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, architectural drawings and joinery specifications;
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, shaping and machining timber and other joinery materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery;
- Experience in preparing timber joints and assembling custom cabinetry, furniture, fittings and other joinery components;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to produce high-quality finishes and ensure components meet required dimensions and specifications.

Job type: Permanent/full time
Salary: $79,000 - $85,000
