Subcontracts Officer
Job Location: Garden Island – NSW open to other locations. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, such as, hybrid, flexibility and 9-day fortnight.

Role Description:
As the Subcontracts Officer, you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business.
Core Duties:
- Lead supplier sourcing activities, including RFQs, obtaining and evaluating multiple quotations, negotiating terms, onboarding new suppliers, and establishing supplier agreements to ensure value for money.
- Manage end-to-end procurement and supply chain administration, including purchase order (PO) creation, contract documentation, supplier records, invoicing issues, and procurement governance requirements.
- Act as the primary Supply Chain and Procurement representative, supporting the business in sourcing external engineering services and contractors when internal capability cannot meet requirements.
- Support supplier negotiations and manage contractual obligations, including payments, claims, warranties, contract amendments, and subcontract variations.
- Manage allocated procurement activities and small projects to achieve cost, schedule, quality,
and safety objectives while minimising risk.
- Collate and manage subcontractor performance requirements for the Combined Services Review.
- Monitor and drive supplier and subcontractor performance through effective risk management, KPI development, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve contract outcomes.
About You:
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement project/ business requirements
- An ability to develop strong working relationships with suppliers, their supply chains and internal stakeholders is required
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer, project and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences is critical to this role
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite.
