Mechanical Fitter

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Fitter will join a supportive and collaborative Maintenance & Reliability team at Harvey Beef, Western Australia's largest beef processor. The Maintenance Fitter will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability and production efficiency.

With the addition of a recent Maintenance Enterprise Agreement, a rewarding and supportive structure is already in place.

Working in a rotating day/night roster (7-day fortnight rotation), you'll be responsible for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives in our state-of-the-art facility located in Harvey, WA.

This is a hands-on role suited for a trade-qualified fitter with strong mechanical fitting experience in FMCG or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct machinery inspections, adjustments, and repairs
- Troubleshoot process and equipment failures to determine root causes
- Drive preventative & ongoing maintenance programs
- Support Engineering & Production teams in continuous improvements
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend process enhancements
- Supervise TA's and contract staff, ensuring compliance with standards
- Manufacture, repair, and fault-find hydraulic & pneumatic equipment

What We're Looking For:

- Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitter) - Essential




- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics (highly regarded)
- Exposure to FMCG, food processing, or red meat industry (preferred, but not essential)
- Experience with vacuum packaging equipment (advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of OHS compliance & confined space requirements
- Ability to fabricate & weld (advantageous)
