We are seeking enthusiastic and confident Casual Attraction Guides to support a leading national cultural venue in Canberra. This is a public-facing role suited to people who enjoy customer service, storytelling, education, history, culture and working with visitors of all ages.

As an Attraction Guide, you will help welcome visitors, support tours and programs, assist with exhibitions and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy visitor environment.

What you'll do

- Welcome and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Deliver or support engaging guided tours and visitor experiences.
- Assist with education programs, including school and student groups.
- Provide clear and accurate information to visitors.
- Help manage visitor flow through exhibitions, activities and public spaces.
- Support daily operations, including general administration and event/program support where required.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive team to ensure a positive visitor experience.

About you

We are looking for people who are warm, reliable, engaging and confident communicating with a wide range of visitors.

You will ideally bring:

- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence speaking with individuals and groups.
- A genuine interest in Australian history, culture, First Nations history, heritage, education or public engagement.
- The ability to communicate information clearly and adapt your approach to different audiences.
- Positive teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- Strong organisation, reliability and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work casual shifts across weekdays and weekends.

Highly regarded experience

The following experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential:





- Tour guiding, visitor services or public-facing cultural venue experience.
- Experience working in a museum, gallery, heritage site, tourism attraction, cultural institution or events environment.
- Experience supporting school groups or delivering educational programs.
- Experience assisting with exhibitions, public programs or special events.
- Knowledge of Australian history, Canberra, First Nations history, culture or collections.
- Additional language skills.
- Current First Aid Certificate.

Availability and shifts

- Casual position with flexible rostering.
- Approximate minimum shift length: 3 hours.
- Peak periods may offer up to 4 shifts per week.
- Non-peak periods may offer around 1-3 shifts per week.
- Weekday and weekend availability will be highly regarded.

Compliance requirements

Before commencement, successful candidates will need to:

- Be an Australian citizen.
- Hold or obtain an ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
- Complete a National Police Check.
- Complete any required onboarding and induction documentation.
