At headspace Early Psychosis, we support young people aged 12-25 who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, psychosis. Using an evidence-based, recovery-oriented approach, we work alongside young people and their families to provide timely assessment, intervention and support when it matters most.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Clinician to join our Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mental health professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced workplace, leading by example, and supporting young people experiencing complex mental health challenges.

About the Team

The Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) is the primary point of contact for referrals and enquiries into headspace Early Psychosis South East Queensland.

The team provides triage, comprehensive assessments and recommendations through an assertive outreach engagement model.

MATT clinicians undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develop clinical formulations, formulate treatment recommendations, and work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and external service providers to ensure the right support is provided at the right time.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team while delivering high-quality assessment and intervention services to young people referred to the program.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing specialist triage, comprehensive mental health assessments and clinical interventions for young people experiencing mental health challenges and early psychosis.




- Completing risk assessments, clinical formulations, treatment recommendations and risk management planning.
- Providing assertive outreach and home-based assessment and engagement services.
- Leading day-to-day shift coordination and providing clinical leadership in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Supporting junior clinicians through supervision, mentoring and expert clinical advice.
- Facilitating and contributing to clinical review meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Working collaboratively with young people, families, carers and external stakeholders to support recovery-focused outcomes.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to service development.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation.

About You

You are an experienced clinician who is passionate about youth mental health and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Essential

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Counselling, Nursing or another relevant human services discipline.
- Current registration and/or membership with the relevant professional body.
- Significant experience in mental health care, including mental health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention and psychosocial treatment.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people experiencing complex mental health presentations, including first episode psychosis.
- Strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice and shared decision-making approaches.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.




- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.
- High-level organisational and time management skills.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain one.

Desirable

- Experience working within youth mental health services.
- Knowledge of early psychosis intervention frameworks including the EPPIC and Orygen models of care.
- Experience providing clinical supervision or mentoring to clinicians.
