Role Purpose:

The Executive Manager Business Services & Company Secretary is responsible for overseeing all financial policy and direction, financial administration, business planning, and budgeting within OV. They lead other organisational functions including Information Technology, Fleet, Assets and Legal, and perform the role of the Company Secretary. As a member of the Executive Management Team, they participate in the management of OV at a strategic level and work closely with the Risk & Finance Committee of the OV Board.

Key areas of focus:

- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management to ensure consistency with OV’s strategic plan. ·

- Liaise with other Executive Managers to ensure consistency with short and long-term financial planning and projections.

- Provide financial reports and advice to the Board Risk and Finance Committee on issues, trends, and changes affecting OV’s financial position.

- Work collaboratively with the executive team in the development of long-term strategic plans for business services that align with OV’s organisational strategy, RAP’s and sector priorities.

- Provide leadership to a team of staff supporting areas of Finance, Payroll, IT, Assets, and Fleet.

- Provide leadership and guidance to Managers to assist them in developing a collaborative and high performing team culture, achieving service targets and promoting continuous learning and professional development opportunities for their staff across Finance, IT, Assets and Fleet.





- Support, develop and manage direct staff and guide other managers and teams on financial matters.

- Engage other members of the senior Management Team to facilitate cross-department collaboration.

- Work closely with other Executives and the People & Culture function with regards to OH&S;, Performance Management, Resourcing, and developmental initiatives for the broader OV workforce.

- Model an emotionally intelligent leadership style that is calm, respectful and solutions-focused, ensuring all interactions uphold OV’s values.

- Foster a leadership environment where staff feel safe to raise concerns, provide ideas and seek support without fear of judgement or negative consequences.

- Actively challenge and address behaviours that undermine team cohesion, including rudeness, dismissiveness or manipulation and ensure leadership practice across all areas align with OV’s expectations.

To be successful in this role, you must…

1. Have a minimum of 10 years of broad financial experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control and reporting) and general administration.

1. Have experience of working with a CEO (or equivalent) and Board of Directors.

1. Be a hands-on manager with a high level of financial and business acumen.

1. Demonstrate success in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting.

1. Hold high level skills in examining, developing, reviewing, and recommending financial, and administrative policies and procedures.

1. Bring strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

1. Demonstrate high level communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative style aligned with OV values and a strong service orientation.

1. Have a leadership style that embraces collaboration, accountability, teamwork, and shared responsibility.

1. Have proven capability in stakeholder engagement and relationship building with the ability to liaise and communicate productively with a variety of people at all levels.
