About the role

This is not a standard retail job. I run a small, independent boutique jewellery store in Cairns, specialising in fine jewellery, custom designs, repairs, and valuations. After 31 years in business, I'm looking for a highly capable, dependable person to work alongside me — and to confidently run the shop when I'm away.

Key responsibilities

- Confidently run the shop independently when the owner is away

- Manage jewellery repairs, customer enquiries, and follow-ups

- Sell jewellery with confidence and genuine care for customer needs

- Keep the store immaculate, professional, and welcoming

- Build robust customer relationships through warm, engaging communication

About you

- A confident and persuasive seller who genuinely enjoys helping customers





- 100% reliable and punctual (essential)

- Minimum 1-2 years of retail or sales experience required

- Calm, capable, and organised — able to manage the shop independently

- Someone who brings positive energy — as it's just you and me most days

- A warm, engaging communicator who builds instant rapport

- Maturity, reliability and common sense

- Jewellery experience is highly regarded, but not essential for the right person

- Luxury retail, fashion, or boutique sales experience valued if you love learning

- Australian citizen (eligibility requirement)
