We are seeking an organised, proactive and people-focused Workforce Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day management and long-term development of our workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare administration or workforce professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems and creating structure in a busy healthcare environment.
The Workforce Manager will oversee workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, onboarding, training and staff support across the practice. The role will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, with the right support to deliver high-quality patient care.
About the Role;
The Workforce Manager will be responsible for:
- Implement efficient systems and workflow procedures that enable the practice to operate smoothly and independently, with minimal day-to-day oversight or management intervention.
- Developing and managing staff rosters across administration and selected nursing teams
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and coverage across the practice
- Coordinating annual leave and unplanned absences
- Coordinating recruitment from advertising and candidate screening through to interviews, offers and onboarding
- Managing staff inductions and ensuring employment documentation is complete
- Coordinating mandatory training and career development
- Maintaining workforce training and compliance records
- Acting as a first point of contact for routine workforce-related matters
- Supporting performance management, staff wellbeing and conflict resolution alongside the Practice Manager
- Identifying and managing workforce, operational, WHS and compliance risks
- Participating in incident investigations,
audits and continuous improvement activities
- Supporting compliance with RACGP Standards, relevant legislation and practice policies
- Contributing to leadership meetings, workforce planning and broader practice improvement initiatives
About you;
- Experienced in healthcare administration, workforce coordination, rostering or operations
- Highly organised with excellent scheduling and time-management skills
- Confident coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes
- Comfortable working with a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical staff
- A strong communicator who can build positive working relationships
- Calm and solutions-focused when managing competing priorities or unexpected staffing challenges
- Discreet and professional when handling confidential and sensitive matters
- Proactive, accountable and willing to take ownership
- Detail-oriented while also able to see the bigger operational picture
