Requirements

- A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Ideally 5 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant, Accountant, or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience with statutory reporting and compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and high Excel/financial systems capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process and system improvements
- Experience within mining, resources, construction, civil, or a similar project-based environment is highly regarded





Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and complete month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and review of the general ledger.
- Prepare and review P&L; and balance sheet accounts and assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting.
- Complete balance sheet and reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure outstanding items are resolved.
- Prepare, reconcile, and lodge statutory obligations including BAS, Fuel Tax Credits, Payroll Tax, TPAR, FBT, and superannuation.
- Support year-end reporting and external audits, whilst maintaining and improving financial controls, procedures, and accounting systems.
- Work collaboratively across Finance and the wider business, providing support and oversight across AP, AR and Payroll where required.
