We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our Management Team at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre.

Embraced by one of the world's most beautiful locations, the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre is an enticing destination to introduce visitors to both the stunning natural beauty of the Daintree and the rich culture of the Kuku Yalanji people.

You will be an experienced and people focused Operations Manager, you will have strong experience in managing people and operations within a tourism and hospitality environment.

Your primary responsibility will be organisational wide people management, learning, performance, employee and internal communications.

Key Duties

- Supporting, developing and retaining Indigenous employees and trainees to achieve Indigenous employment goals.
- Managing the daily operations of the shuttle bus, retail, food & beverage teams and ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate cost-effective way.
- Examining financial data and use them to improve profitability whilst also managing budgets and forecasts.
- Continuing to develop the food & beverage and retail offerings to ensure ‘best in class’ experiences.
- Managing and controlling inventories and oversee cost efficiencies.




- Assisting the General Manager by overseeing and managing all capital expenditure projects.

You will have:

- Experience in a management position within the hospitality or related field.
- Certificate IV in Tourism, or other related field or appropriate commensurate experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project management of complex tasks.
- Proven ability to negotiate and build professional relationships with external providers.
- Solid conflict resolution skills at a department level.
- Financial skills including budget management and reporting as required.
- Knowledge of and interest in Indigenous Tourism.
