Landscape & Civil Construction Foreman / Tradesman

About the Role

GJs Landscape & Civil is seeking an experienced Landscape & Civil Construction Foreman / Tradesman to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced landscaper, civil construction tradesman or foreman who can confidently lead a team while also getting involved on the tools when required.

You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising site activities, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety, and helping ensure landscape and civil construction projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise and motivate construction teams on-site.

- Coordinate daily site activities, labour, materials, plant and equipment.

- Work hands-on with the team across landscaping, civil and construction activities as required.

- Read, interpret and implement construction plans, drawings and technical specifications.

- Ensure works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with project requirements.

- Apply robust knowledge of landscape, civil and building construction methods, materials and equipment.

- Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and company requirements.

- Identify and resolve on-site challenges efficiently and make sound decisions under pressure.

- Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and trades where required.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe worksite.

- Complete basic site administration, including timesheets, daily records, photos, checklists and other project documentation.

- Assist with planning and coordinating upcoming works to ensure projects remain on schedule.





Essential Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Significant experience in landscape construction.

- Previous experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand or experienced Tradesman.

- Strong practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, plant and equipment.

- The ability to confidently read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- A strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete site administration tasks.

- A current Driver’s Licence.

- A current Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Qualifications & Tickets

Relevant qualifications and tickets are highly regarded, including:

- Certificate III in Landscape Construction.

- Relevant building or construction qualifications.

- Additional plant, machinery or construction tickets are advantageous.
