About the Role

Working within the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, the successful candidate will be part of the Procurement and Contract Management Team that provides Procurement and Contract Management Governance to the broader Program .

Key Duties

- Provide high-quality authoritative and accurate procurement leadership, advice, and services
- Lead and influence NFAEP managers to adopt best-practice procurement approaches in their engagement, providing specialist procurement leadership, advice, mitigate Procurement risks, and resolve procurement related issues.
- Deliver cost reduction commitments through the identification, development, and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Contribute to the management of all higher-risk activities and initiatives across the Program.
- Contribute to developing and implementing standardised tools, practices and procedures that optimise procurement efficiency while delivering a targeted service to internal customers.
- Plan and execute end to end strategic procurement activities.
- Develop and maintain systems and procedures that provide effective procurement support for the Program, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement demonstrating public service professionalism and probity.
- Actively manage individual and team performance and provide supportive leadership to develop sustainable and capable procurement practices.




- Develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including DPI Finance & Asset Management and DPI Procurement Services to facilitate effective procurement outcomes.

Highly Desirable to this role are:

- While not mandatory, demonstrated experience with significant, complex procurement tenders and projects, would be well regarded.
- Procurement Certification Program (PCP) Level 3
- Proven ability to lead complex procurement processes for general goods and services

- Procurement Certification Program (PCP) Level 2

AO7 hourly rate contract, until April 2027 + possible extension
