Senior Building Inspector – Brisbane (Expert Witness & Insurance Claims)Owner Inspections is growing its Brisbane team and needs a Senior Building Inspector who can handle insurance claim assessments and expert witness work.
This role suits someone who already holds the right QBCC credentials and has stood behind their reports in a dispute before.What you'll doAssess insurance claims for storm, hail, and structural damage, and write reports that hold up under scrutinyPrepare expert witness reports and give evidence in QCAT or court proceedingsAdditional property purchase and pest inspection work is available if you want itWhat you needYou must hold a QBCC Completed Residential Building Inspection licence, or meet the criteria to apply for one.
The QBCC accepts applicants who already hold a Builder Low Rise, Builder Medium Rise, or Builder Open licence, backed by five years of construction experience in that scope of work.
Accredited building surveyors, assistant building surveyors, or building surveyor technicians with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors also qualify, provided they have five years of relevant experience.

the QBCC expects applicants to be fit and proper, hold permission to work in Queensland, and carry skilled indemnity insurance.
You also need to provide evidence of your business structure if you operate under a trading name, company, partnership, or trust.
Queensland Building and Construction CommissionReports need to follow Australian Standard AS, the standard that governs how completed residential buildings get inspected and reported on.
Inspections must be prepared in accordance with this standard.
