Backbone Landscapes is growing, and we’re looking for experienced landscapers to join our team.

We work across the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter regions, delivering a wide range of residential landscaping projects. Our work includes everything from complete new-build landscapes through to retaining walls, fencing, turf, planting, drainage, excavation, concreting and more.

We’re looking for people who know landscaping, can think for themselves and genuinely care about producing a quality finished job.

What you’ll be doing

Depending on your experience,



your work could include:

- Retaining walls

- Fencing

- Turf preparation and installation

- Garden construction and planting

- Drainage and stormwater

- Excavation and earthworks

- Concreting and paving

- Site preparation

- Operating machinery

- Reading plans and setting out work

- Running sections of jobs and helping guide other team members

There’s plenty of variety, and experienced team members will be given the opportunity to take ownership of their work.

Who we’re looking for

Experience matters for this position.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has solid experience in structural and/or residential landscaping

- Takes genuine pride in their workmanship

- Can work independently without needing constant supervision

- Can problem-solve and think ahead on site

- Is reliable and turns up ready to work

- Works well as part of a team

- Communicates well with supervisors, other trades and clients

- Looks after tools, machinery and equipment

- Has a current driver’s licence

- Has a White Card

A landscaping qualification is highly regarded, but practical experience, attitude and the quality of your work are just as important to us.

Experience operating excavators, posi-tracks and other machinery would also be highly regarded.

Skills are important, but so is the person joining the team.

We want people who give a sh*t about the finished product, help the person working beside them and want to be part of building a strong landscaping team.
