Role Summary

This Senior Accountant role is a hands‑on public practice position responsible for delivering technically accurate accounting and tax work across a diverse client portfolio. The role supports Managers and Directors, maintains strong client relationships and provides guidance to developing accountants.

This is a performance‑driven role with clear expectations around chargeable hours, billing, recovery and technical quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns in line with Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation for a portfolio of business and individual clients, meeting statutory and internal deadlines
- Deliver management reports and ad hoc tax advice
- Maintain strong file management with minimal review points




- Proactively communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
- Mentor and support developing accountants

Performance Expectations

- Approx. 90% of time spent on client‑chargeable work
- Consistent achievement of chargeable hours, billing and recovery targets
- High attention to detail, compliance and quality
- Reliable delivery with minimal rework

Ideal Candidate

- 5+ years’ experience in public practice accounting
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards
- Strong technical accounting and tax capability
- Confident managing multiple clients and deadlines
- Detail‑focused, reliable and professional
- Comfortable mentoring developing accountants

Systems

- Xero, MYOB
- BGL 360, MYOB AE, CAS (highly desirable)
- Intermediate MS Office

Practical Details

- Location: Mount Lawley
- Employment: Full‑time, Monday–Friday
