Senior Ecologist | Ecology Team Leader | State Ecology Leader

EcoFutures is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced senior ecologist to lead and grow our ecology practice in NSW.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with an established track record in ecology. You will already have significant technical credibility, strong relationships in the NSW market and experience leading people, clients or a substantial body of work. Just as importantly, you will have the ambition and capability to help build a practice.

You might already lead an ecology team or practice and be looking for greater freedom to shape its direction. Or you might be a highly experienced practising ecologist who has built a solid reputation, client base and body of work and is ready to step into broader leadership.

Either way, this is not an entry point into ecology leadership. We are looking for someone who can bring experience, judgement, relationships and a demonstrated track record from day one.

Ecology that influences what happens next

EcoFutures is the ecology practice of the Alluvium Group. We undertake flora and fauna surveys, wetland and waterway assessments, ecological monitoring, spatial analysis and modelling.

We use that evidence to understand how landscapes function and help clients make better decisions about what to protect,



where to invest and how landscapes should be managed. Our ambition is to extend ecology beyond individual projects into strategy, policy and investment decisions grounded in the best available science.

We’re looking for someone who can play a leading role in the next stage of EcoFutures’ growth in NSW. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply inherit an established practice and follow a predefined path. You’ll have the backing of EcoFutures and the broader Alluvium Group, but genuine responsibility for helping build what comes next in NSW. We are looking for someone ready to take responsibility not only for excellent ecology, but also for people, clients, work and the growth of a practice.
