Based in the South Coast region of Western Australia, South Coast Natural Resource Management is an independent, community-based organisation that provides leadership and expertise in natural resource management, conservation, sustainability, and community capacity. South Coast NRM is seeking an enthusiastic Project Coordinator to deliver and lead project activities and outcomes in this Albany-Based role. The successful applicant will provide project management and leadership to South Coast NRM’s Fitz-Stirling Priority Place project and assist in the delivery of the organisation's priority operational projects.
The Fitz-Stirling Priority Place project aims to restore the Fitz-Stirling Priority Place by implementing key management actions for its fauna, flora and ecological communities. Actions will include managing disease, securing threatened flora through seed collection and translocations, integrated pest control, habitat augmentation, fire management, and supporting First Nations cultural practices. These actions particularly focus on protecting the Eastern Stirling Range Montane Heath and Thicket, Proteaceae Dominated Kwongkan Shrubland,
various threatened flora species, malleefowl and Carnaby’s black cockatoo.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project, contract and financial management of assigned projects. Delivery of project activities and outcomes including environmental survey design and implementation, and ecological monitoring and evaluation.
- Project reporting in accordance with internal and head contract requirements including status reports on activities, schedule, budget and project acquittals.
- Liaise with and coordinate key stakeholders to foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure effective project delivery of field-based activities including events, monitoring and operational outcomes.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver field-based activities including events, ecological monitoring and on-ground recovery actions.
- Utilise analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during project lifecycles and program delivery.

The position will be based in Albany, WA and is offered at 1.0 FTE.
