Genwest is looking for a reliable and motivated Service Person / Field Service Technician to join our Kalgoorlie team.

This is a hands-on role working across our fleet of generators, lighting towers and associated equipment, both in our Kalgoorlie workshop and across various mine sites throughout the Goldfields.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is mechanically minded and is comfortable working independently when required.

About the Role

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on generators, lighting towers and associated equipment

- Attending mine sites throughout the Goldfields as part of scheduled service runs

- Completing basic fault finding and repairs

- Inspecting equipment and identifying defects or upcoming maintenance requirements

- Completing pre-hire and off-hire inspections

- Assisting with equipment breakdowns and call-outs when required

- Maintaining service vehicles, tooling and equipment

- Completing service reports, job documentation and timesheets accurately

- Working closely with the maintenance and workshop team to keep equipment available and reliable

- Maintaining a high standard of safety and housekeeping both in the workshop and on site

About You

Ideally, you will have:





- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience servicing or maintaining mobile equipment

- Experience with diesel engines, generators, lighting towers or similar equipment would be highly regarded

- Previous mining or field service experience would be advantageous

- Current Australian driver's licence

- Ability to work unsupervised and manage your workload

- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- Strong commitment to safety

- Good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a team

- Ability to complete site inductions and meet mine-site requirements

Mechanical qualifications are advantageous; however, we are also interested in hearing from experienced service people who have developed strong practical skills in the field.
