Parking Officer opportunities
The City of West Torrens are seeking dependable and motivated people to join the Compliance Department as Parking Officers. The following opportunities are currently available:
- A full-time, fixed-term position available until 18 December 2026.
- A casual position.
Employment details
- Fixed-term salary: Level 3 Officer, $88,794 to $95,955 per annum, calculated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis, plus superannuation.
- Casual rate: $56.17 per hour, inclusive of casual loading, plus superannuation.
- Both positions are based at Hilton, South Australia.
For the full time, fixed-term position:
- Participation in an on-call roster is required. This includes regular parking compliance work outside normal business hours and on weekends.
- Flexible working arrangements are available, including the option to work a 9-day fortnight.
What you'll do
You will undertake a range of duties, including:
- enforcing relevant parking legislation, including identifying and addressing the inappropriate use of roads and footpaths and enforcing breaches of parking restrictions
- patrolling the Council area to ensure compliance with parking regulations
- responding to parking complaints and monitor ongoing issues
- gathering and accurately recording evidence of parking offences
- providing accurate advice to the community and internal stakeholders.

You are a dependable and motivated team player whose interpersonal style builds trust and credibility. You are proactive, engaged and enjoy being actively involved in operational activities.
Your attention to detail will support the accurate and consistent enforcement of parking regulations. You will use sound judgement, problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused approach to respond to challenges and make effective decisions.
You will have:
- strong documentation, record-keeping and report-writing skills
- experience interpreting and applying legislation
- experience in a compliance, enforcement or customer service environment, or a similar role
- well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- the ability to remain positive and work effectively under pressure.
You must also have:
- a current class C driver's licence
- a current National Police Clearance (within six months of issue)
