Role Description
The Transport & Community Access NDIS Support Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Sydney Area. This role supports participants with secure and reliable transport to appointments, work, education, and social or recreational activities, ensuring timely and well-coordinated travel. The Support Worker helps participants access and engage in their local community, encouraging social inclusion, independence, and confidence.
Daily tasks may include assisting with trip planning, accompanying participants during outings, providing mobility support,
and communicating clearly with participants, families, and other stakeholders.
The role also involves monitoring transport-related needs, reporting any issues or risks, and maintaining accurate records in line with NDIS and organizational guidelines.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess transportation-focused skills such as Transportation Planning and Transportation Management.
- Candidates should possess operations-related skills such as Operations Management and Analytical Skills.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships.
- Current valid driver’s license (mandatory), secure driving record, and willingness to transport participants in compliance with safety standards.
- Experience working within NDIS or disability support services, with a person-centered and trauma-informed approach.
- Relevant qualifications in community services, disability support, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work autonomously, manage schedules, and maintain accurate documentation and incident reports.
- Compliance with all required checks, such as Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, and First Aid certification.
