Across our renowned precinct, we feature cutting-edge programs and surgery infrastructure, fostering clinical excellence and professional growth.Located in the vibrant heart of Darlinghurst, we are positioned just minutes from Kings Cross station, with direct, high-frequency bus connections from the east, and seamless links from Gadigal and Museum stations right to our doorstep.Read on to explore this exciting role and the fantastic perks waiting for you here.About the roleBe the first point of contact for GambleAware South Eastern Sydney, conducting intake, triage and assessment, developing care plans and delivering brief counselling interventions to identify and respond to client treatment needsCoordinate client case allocation, referrals and appropriate support for people affected by gambling, including emergency care where requiredDeliver brief therapeutic telephone interventions using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy principles, while managing and de-escalating callers who may be distressed,



frustrated or in crisisLiaise with GambleAware services and the Office of Responsible Gambling to support service coordination, including participation in the region-wide intake meeting and the direct booking systemMaintain accurate client records, statistics and routine outcome measures, while managing competing priorities autonomously and participating in supervision, professional development, education and training as requiredParticipate in community engagement and outreach or educational activities as requiredAbout youRelevant tertiary qualification in counselling or behavioural science, with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional associationDemonstrated experience in intake, screening and bio-psychosocial assessments, with the ability to identify client needs and support access to appropriate servicesExperience delivering brief therapeutic interventions, counselling services and treatment plansExperience working with addiction, mental health or problem behaviours, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and autonomously with minimal supervisionDemonstrated computer literacy across word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and electronic clinical information systemsWhat we can offer youExceptional Rewards: Competitive pay and not-for-profit salary packaging to maximise your incomeWorld-Class: Be part of a renowned precinct alongside the Garvan & Victor Chang institutesExcellence: Premier heart/lung transplant program, advanced robotics, & pioneering HIV/AIDS initiativesCutting-Edge Oncology: Deliver advanced cancer care and trials at the renowned Kinghorn Cancer CentreCommunity:
