Reporting to the Director, the Retail Manager will plan, organise, direct and control the operations of both retail outlets. The position is responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets, maintaining appropriate stock and service standards, managing employees, and ensuring compliance with lottery operator requirements and applicable retail regulations.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, organise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's retail stores.
- Develop and implement operating procedures, customer service standards and business performance targets.
- Prepare and manage store budgets, sales forecasts, labour costs and operating expenses, and regularly report financial and operational performance to the Director.
- Analyse sales results and customer demand to determine product range, pricing, promotions and merchandising strategies.
- Manage purchasing, supplier relationships, stock replenishment, inventory control and loss-prevention procedures.
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise and evaluate retail employees, ensuring appropriate staffing and service standards across all locations.
- Oversee point-of-sale operations, cash reconciliations, banking, lottery settlements and the investigation of stock or financial discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with lottery operator requirements,



responsible gambling obligations, work health and safety requirements, consumer laws and other applicable regulations.

About you

- An AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business, Commerce, Management or a related discipline; or at least three years of relevant retail management experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience in retail operations, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of retail cash-handling, point-of-sale and stock-management procedures.
- Strong leadership, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work across both store locations.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays where reasonably required by the business.
- Experience in a lottery agency, newsagency, convenience retail or similar high-volume retail setting will be highly regarded.
- Willingness to complete any lottery operator training and compliance requirements applicable to the position.
