SEQ Events Coordinator - South-East Queensland
Yoga Paws Pty Ltd
Location: Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast
About Yoga Paws
Yoga Paws is Australia's largest puppy yoga organisation, delivering weekly animal-focused wellness events across the country.
What began in Brisbane in 2024 has grown into a national community built around feel-good movement, responsible puppy socialisation and memorable customer experiences.
We work with carefully assessed breeders, animal shelters and rescue organisations, with animal welfare guiding how every event is planned and delivered.
The role
As our South-East Queensland Event Coordinator, you will take ownership of event-day operations across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Our current locations include Highgate Hill, Bulimba, Paddington, Albion, Miami and Maroochydore, although venues may change as our schedule develops.
You will oversee each event from setup through to final pack-down, lead the event team, support our yoga instructors, welcome customers and ensure every session meets Yoga Paws' operational, presentation and animal welfare standards.
This is an active, customer-facing leadership position. It is not a yoga teaching role.
Key responsibilities
- Lead weekend event operations across Yoga Paws' South-East Queensland locations.
- Coordinate venue access, event setup, room presentation and final pack-down.
- Ensure mats, animal areas, signage and customer spaces are set up safely and consistently.
- Brief event staff, allocate responsibilities and provide transparent direction throughout the day.
- Support new and developing team members through practical coaching and constructive feedback.
- Welcome customers,
oversee check-in and create a warm, organised and professional atmosphere.
- Coordinate closely with the yoga instructor to keep every session running safely and on time.
- Apply Yoga Paws' animal handling, hygiene, rest and welfare procedures throughout every event.
- Monitor the animals' comfort and behaviour and respond promptly if an animal requires additional space, rest or support.
- Maintain strong working relationships with breeders, rescue representatives, instructors, venue teams and event staff.
- Resolve customer, staffing and operational issues calmly and confidently.
- Report incidents, welfare concerns, staffing matters and operational issues to management.
- Ensure uniforms and event equipment are accounted for at the end of each event.
- Leave every venue clean, organised and properly reset.
- Represent Yoga Paws professionally and uphold our customer experience and animal welfare standards.
Weekend availability
Reliable availability is required every Saturday and Sunday. Planned leave is supported through the usual leave request process, but consistent weekend availability is fundamental to this position.
Please do not apply if your weekend availability changes regularly or if you cannot ordinarily commit to both Saturdays and Sundays.
Event days may involve early starts and full-day shifts. The assigned city and venue may vary between weekends.
About you
- Have experience in event operations, hospitality, retail, customer service, studio management or another hands‑on supervisory role.
- Are comfortable taking responsibility and directing a small team.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully and confidently.
- Remain calm and practical when plans change or problems arise.
- Notice small details and take action without waiting to be asked.
- Are organised, reliable and consistently punctual.
- Enjoy working with customers and know how to create a welcoming experience.
- Care genuinely about animal welfare and responsible animal handling.
- Are comfortable working around puppies and other rescue animals.
- Can remain active and on your feet throughout a full event day.
- Can safely assist with ordinary event setup and pack‑down tasks.
- Can travel reliably between venues across South‑East Queensland.
- Previous animal care experience is welcome but not essential. Comprehensive operational and animal welfare training will be provided.
What we offer
- A permanent part‑time role with regular weekend work.
- Structured training and clear operating procedures.
- A supportive team and direct access to Yoga Paws management.
- Planned leave supported through the usual leave process.
- The opportunity to lead events within a fast‑growing Australian brand.
- A role combining people leadership, events, customer experience and animal welfare.
- A workplace involving plenty of puppies, community interaction and genuinely memorable weekends.
