Ormeggio at The Spit, located at d’Albora Marina in Mosman, is a buzzy Italian seafood fine-dining restaurant and Cocktail Bar.

It has two chef hats, is often listed among Australia’s top restaurants and has an incredible team of skilled people from all over the world in its team.

Ormeggio's wine list has been winning awards since opening in 2009. With a heavy focus on Italian wines, a good splash of French and of course a wonderful cellar of Australian wines this is an established and varied list to engage with.

Ormeggio is dedicated to its wine cellar and is looking for an experienced and dedicated Sommelier who is just as passionate about growing its list, matching outstanding wine with great food and engaging with our guests.

Requirements:

- Australian working rights
- Fluent English
- Wine Knowledge - Completed formal wine studies
- Food & wine pairing experience - Current NSW RSA Certificate
- Between 1-3 years working experience in fine-dining or similar hatted restaurants and/or diploma hospitality studies - completed
- Prior experience using POS for order submission




- Working knowledge of Italian food & wines
- Experience with SevenRooms or other online booking systems
- Hours do include weekend & public holiday work.

Tasks include:

- Aiding our Head Sommellier in managing and developing a wonderful varied and worldly cellar with the support of your team and encouragement of the other senior management members
- Continuous training and development to ensure current knowledge
- Advising customers on wine pairing with food, occasion and budget
- Liaise closely with other restaurant staff, so that you are on hand to take drink orders and serve guests at the appropriate time
- Responsible for briefing other restaurant staff on the wine list, so that they promote particular wines and can advise customers
