Minus 1 Refrigerated Transport is a family-owned business in its second generation, driven by strong family values. We specialize in transporting temperature-sensitive freight across Australia.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Advisor person to join our team in Minchinbury NSW. Working with the other State based Safety & Compliance Officers Australia wide and reporting to the Head of Safety you will work from Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities:
- Creating, maintaining existing safety policies and procedures tailored to our workplace and industry.
- Identifying potential hazards and evaluating their severity and likelihood of occurrence.
- Ensuring that all employees adhere to established safety protocols and regulations.
- Regularly inspecting workplaces, equipment, and processes to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Thoroughly examining accidents and near misses to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Educating employees through Inductions & VOC’s on safety procedures, hazard awareness, and the proper use of safety equipment.
- Keeping accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and relevant documentation.
- Monitoring changes in safety regulations and ensuring that the workplace remains compliant with all applicable laws and standards.
- Assisting and recommending to management and employees on safety-related matters.
- Conduct Depot ,Warehouse & Vehicle Safety Inspections
About You:
To be successful with this role, you will have:
- An understanding of OH&S; regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Experience in Logistics Industry with knowledge of HACCP food safety standards.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards and report.
- To convey Safety information in line with Company Policy & Procedures.
- Ability to analyse incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Meticulous in conducting inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring accuracy in safety-related tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain organised records.
- Ability to make sound judgments regarding safety matters.
- Ability to occasionally travel to different sites. Eg: Customer sites etc
