Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school inBedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan ChristianEducation Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, andthis belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in ourcurriculum and all that we do.
We are seeking a passionate and innovativeSecondary Teacher and Digital LearningSupport to join our team in a full-timepermanent position commencing1 st January 2027. This role consists of0.8 FTE Secondary Science teaching component and0.2 FTE as a Digital Learning Support.
The Digital Learning Support role is intended to producemeasurable improvements in the engagement, planning, andimplementation of new digital learning initiatives that willdirectly impact on classroom practice, teacher capability withtechnology, and student learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching for Years 7-12students, adapting to diverse learning needs andabilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success,uphold College policies and maintain professional growth andcurriculum expertise.
- Contribute actively to the Christian ethos and wider lifeof the College, including spiritual, academic, sporting andcultural activities.
- Provide coaching and support for teachers in the effectiveuse of digital learning platforms and Apple technologies.
- Deliver professional learning and training that enhancesthe integration of digital technologies in teaching andlearning.
- Administer key educational applications, communicateupdates and contribute to the ongoing development of digitallearning practices across the College.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church,
living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
- Qualified to meet Western Australian Department ofEducation teaching requirements.
- Values the effective use of digital technologies to enhanceteaching, learning, and school operations.
- A strong communicator and collaborator, skilled insupporting and developing staff, students and families.
- Highly organised and professional, contributing positivelyto school culture, teamwork and extracurricularactivities.
- Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia(TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check(WWCC) or willingness to apply.
Desirable
- To have undertaken formal studies in the area of ChristianEducation, attend a Christian College or be familiar withrelevant books and articles on Christian Education.
- To have experience in the advertised positions.
- To have experience in using a digital learning managementsystem as a teaching and learning tool.
- Experience with technology such as Learning ManagementSystems, particularly Canvas LMS, and Apple devices and iOSoperating systems, generative AI for educational purposes, orMicrosoft Excel.
