The Opportunity

Are you a hands-on technical professional who enjoys working across education, STEM, technology and the creative arts? Join our team and play a key role in creating engaging, practical learning experiences for students across our Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay campuses.

Working under the direction of the Senior Technical Officer, you’ll provide practical and technical support across Education and the Creative Industries dispensary. From preparing resources and equipment for practical classes across science, STEM, mathematics, technology and the arts, to managing equipment loans, inventory, assets and user support, no two days will be the same. You’ll also contribute to safe and effective learning environments through equipment maintenance, inductions, risk management and WHS practices. You will

- Deliver technical support for teaching and learning by preparing,facilitatingand maintaining high-quality practical learning experiences forthe Education discipline and the operation of the Creative Industries dispensary;
- Ensure safe and effective operation of facilities, equipment, and resources through instruction, compliance with health and safety policies, risk and waste management, routine maintenance, and the implementation ofnew techniques and procedures; and
- Support workforce capability and collaborationby liaisingandassistingteam members, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work setting.

About you

You are a practical, solutions-focused professional who enjoys supporting learning through well-organised, hands-on technical services. With experience in education, science, creative industries or a related field, you bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality support for students and staff. You are confident managing competing priorities, maintaining safe and effective learning environments, and working with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. With a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement, you take pride in providing reliable technical support that enables successful teaching, learning and student experiences.

You will possess:

- Completion of a relevant degree in Education, Creative Industries, Arts, Design or a related discipline,



or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. Experience providing technical and practical support within a tertiary education environment is desirable;
- Demonstrated experience providing technical and operational support within teaching, laboratory, workshop, studio, resource centre, dispensary or similar environments, including the preparation and maintenance of equipment, resources, inventory systems, asset loans and facilities;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students and to support a positive learning environment;
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities and meet operational deadlines across a multi-campus setting;
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, including experience in conducting and documenting risk assessments, implementing safe work procedures and supporting compliance within practical learning environments;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a practical environmentwith a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies;
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining positive working relationships and contributing to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team environment; and
- Current driver’s licence.
