This is an entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate to build a career in FinOps tooling and cloud cost management. Working closely with and under the guidance of our FinOps Platform Lead, you will support the delivery team with FinOps tooling support, enablement, and ongoing support, while developing your skills across the major cloud platforms and cost management tools.
You will be given structured on-the-job training, mentoring, and access to industry certifications, with a explicit pathway to grow into a fully‑fledged.Tooling Consultant. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
- Support senior consultants with the onboarding, enablement and ongoing support of FinOps tooling for Cloudec customers.
- Provide first-line support to the Cloudec delivery team on day-to‑day FinOps tooling questions, escalating complex issues to senior consultants.
- Help maintain and update the FinOps tooling capability matrix and supporting documentation.
- Support the delivery of education sessions for customers and internal teams to build FinOps tooling capability.
- Assist customer application teams with basic cloud usage and cost optimisation reporting, under guidance.
- Build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and, over time, customer contacts.
- Work towards agreed FinOps and cloud tooling certifications as part of a structured development plan.
- Follow Cloudec's security, regulatory, and data protection policies in all tooling and customer activities.
- Learn and apply Cloudec's strategic technology approach of "build once, serve many" to make efficient use of tooling.
- Support the protection of customer data across the Cloudec ecosystem in line with company policy.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Success Measures
- Progress against a structured onboarding and professional development plan.
- Completion of foundational cloud and FinOps certifications within agreed timeframes.
- Quality and timeliness of tooling support provided to the delivery team.
- Positive feedback from senior consultants, team members and customers.
- Active participation in training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Accurate and timely contribution to tooling documentation and the capability matrix.
- Demonstrated team engagement, collaboration and willingness to learn.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recently completed, or in the final stages of, a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering (of any field), Business, Finance or a related field.
- A genuine interest in cloud computing and how technology intersects with business and finance.
- A foundational cloud certification (e.g. AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Digital Leader) is highly regarded, or a willingness to obtain one within the first 3 months.
- Must demonstrate experience working with business intelligence or data modelling platforms (e.g., Power BI or Grafana). Familiarity and experience working with FinOps specific platforms such as AWS Cost Explorer, Cloud Health, Cloudability etc will be looked upon favourably.
- Must demonstrate experience working with REST APIs and API troubleshooting. Use of platforms such asPostman or Swagger will be looked upon favourably.
- Knowledge of AI technologies, Containers (Docker/Kubernetes), or CI/CD concepts is a plus, though not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present information clearly.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, enthusiasm to tackle problems that may not be well defined and a comfort working with data is critical.
- A proactive, self‑motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn FinOps principles, cloud cost management practices, and industry frameworks.
