As aneducator in our Secondary School, you will play a key role insupporting the development of our boys as you engage withthem in areas beyond the classroom.

Therole

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Chemistryteachers to join our Science Faculty in January2027.

Working in our new, state-of-the-art Science building, theDuigan Centre, you will be responsible for using evidence-basedteaching strategies to deliver a curriculum that engages andchallenges each student in line with the School’s Effective LearnerModel. In addition, the successful candidate will be considered forthe role of Head of Chemistry to commence in January 2027.

To be successful in the role, you will be required todemonstrate:

- Effective classroom management skills to maximise learningopportunities for students.
- A solid understanding of the principles of the science oflearning.
- Experience in delivering a knowledge-based curriculum.
- Experience using evidence-informed teaching strategiesbased on the work of prominent educational researchersincluding Barak Rosenshine, Doug Lemov, John Hattie and JimKnight.




- Use explicit instruction techniques and frequent formativeassessment to check for student understanding.
- Knowledge of research findings relevant to student learningand education.
- A pursuit of continuous improvement and self-reflection asa teacher.
- A commitment to collaborate with colleagues in planning,implementing and reviewing curriculum through the design andediting of shared resources.
- The ability to establish and foster relationships withstudents, staff, and parents.
- A willingness to be actively involved in the cultural,pastoral, and co-curricular activities of theSchool.
- VIT Registration is essential for this position.
