The Role: Elevate the Experience

We are seeking an exceptional and energetic Assistant Venue Manager at Hybla Tavern who has a wealth of experience in training a team with measurable results. Someone who leads their team by example, empowers people to grow, and supports them to become leaders. This is a role for a true "hospo" heavyweight, someone whose technical skills are as sharp as their leadership style, and who understands that exceptional guest experience starts with exceptional staff development.

Situated in Albany overlooking the pristine waterfront of Middleton Beach, Hybla Tavern incorporates Melaleuka Farm's premium beef with fresh, locally sourced Great Southern produce enabling diverse seasonal menus combined with exceptional service.

Your Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Lead by example. Be a point of contact for all things service, compliance and hospitality.

Operational Excellence: Take ownership of front-of-house duties, including accurate stocktaking, inventory control, and mastering the POS system for seamless reporting.

Team Development: Champion a culture of learning by upskilling staff on product knowledge, service techniques, and beverage preparation.

Customer Experience: Lead the floor during service, setting the standard for a warm welcome and ensuring every guest interaction reflects the Melaleuka Farm quality.





What You'll Bring to the Team

Industry Experience: A solid background managing high-volume hospitality environments (bars, bistros, or restaurants). You are comfortable working and leading at a solid pace.

A Passion for Product: A genuine interest in food/ beverage trends and local produce, with the creative flair to help shape our beverage program.

Operational Mindset: You have a head for numbers and organisation, ready to tackle stock control and operational efficiency with accuracy.

Leadership Potential: You are a natural coach who enjoys upskilling others, fostering a collaborative culture and leading by example on the floor.

Service Excellence:An instinctive drive to deliver outstanding guest journeys. You understand that memorable service drives repeat business and you consistently set high standards on the floor.

Mandatory Requirements

Current WA Approved Manager’s Card (Unrestricted)

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.

Current Food Handlers Certificate.

Chemform Training Certificate.
