Are you an experienced leader in Outside School Hours Care who is passionate about developing people, driving quality and creating meaningful outcomes for children and families?

The Y Canberra Region is seeking an experienced and dynamic OSHC Area Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care services throughout the ACT and NSW

This is an exciting opportunity to influence service excellence across a diverse portfolio, mentor high-performing teams and ensure every child experiences safe, engaging and inclusive care

About the Role

Reporting to the Children's Services Operations Manager, you will provide leadership across multiple OSHC services, supporting Coordinators to deliver high-quality programs that meet regulatory, quality and child safety requirements

You will drive continuous improvement, strengthen operational performance, coach and develop teams, build strong relationships with schools and families, and contribute to the ongoing growth of Children's Services across the region

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support Coordinators across multiple OSHC and Vacation Care services
- Coach, mentor and develop capable, engaged and high-performing teams
- Drive high-quality, child-centred programs reflecting children's interests and developmental needs
- Support services to achieve and maintain at least a Meeting rating under the National Quality Standard
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, Child Safe Standards and WHS requirements
- Lead quality improvement, internal audits and Assessment and Rating preparation
- Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and performance management
- Build strong partnerships with schools, families, communities and key stakeholders
- Monitor operational and financial performance and support sustainable service delivery
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging Vacation Care programs

About You

You are an experienced children's services leader who enjoys empowering others to succeed. You bring strong operational knowledge, a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes for children and families

You will have:

- Minimum 2 years' leadership experience within OSHC or a similar children's services environment
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and National Regulations
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams, manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement
- A strong commitment to child safety, quality and organisational excellence




- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent
- Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and International Police Records Check where applicable
- Current Driver Licence – mandatory
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification, or willingness to obtain
- Completion of all required Y mandatory online learning prior to commencement
- Geccko Foundations of Child Safety Courses 1 & 2, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Geccko Advanced Child Safety Courses 3 & 4, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- ACT Government Keeping Children and Young People Safe training or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
