Psychologist - Senior (Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home)
You have theexciting opportunity to be a part of a newly established service in Queensland- the Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH). Deliverhigh quality evidencedbased perinatal mental health psychology clinicalservices to consumers, carers/supportersand infants as part of a highfunctioning acute mental health multi-disciplinary team.
Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH)
The Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in The Home program (PAMH-HITH) is a virtual bedadmission program designed to deliver time-limited, intensivemulti-disciplinary treatment for women and birthing people experiencingmoderate to severe perinatal mental illness during pregnancy or within thefirst 12 months following birth. Consumers receivedhospital-equivalent care in their home environment rather than within atraditional inpatient unit or Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in order toreceiveintensive care whilstremainingwith their infant/s, their family andcultural environment, and connected to community and social supports.
Your keyaccountabilities
- Deliver high level psychology services, including assessment, evidence-informed perinatal menial health interventions, and education in accordance with prescribed qualified and ethical standards.
- Undertake high level psychology duties relevant to your assigned caseload with minimal need for direct supervision and provide psychology consultancy and advice (within delegations) to other staff members within your team and across the Mental Health and AOD Service.
- Provide high level skills and experience in providing quality leadership, clinical advice and education to staff (including psychologists, psychology students, allied health, nursing and medical) to enhance their knowledge regarding psychological clinical practice and services in perinatal mental health.
- Actively participate and provide leadership in professional and multidisciplinary team meetings, including clinical case conferences, departmental and Hospital and Health Service meetings.
- Provide high level clinical advice and direction to the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and AOD Service, the psychology team, other relevant stakeholders (including medical, nursing and allied health), professional and operational supervisors and non-government organisations regarding professional psychology standards and psychology service development and improvement.
