A busy and established electronic device repair business is seeking a skilled Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to join their experienced team.

SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker on behalf of our client, an established electronic device repair business located in the Melbourne CBD. The business specialises in diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of consumer electronic equipment, including smartphones, tablets, laptops and smartwatches. With a strong focus on technical expertise, quality workmanship and customer service, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to join a busy repair environment.

Position – Electronic Equipment Trades Worker

Location – Melbourne, VIC 3000

Salary - $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to diagnose, service and repair a range of electronic devices and equipment. The role requires strong technical and fault-finding abilities, including component-level diagnostics, micro-soldering and motherboard repairs, together with the ability to accurately test repaired equipment and ensure its operating correctly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Inspect, test and repair electronic devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches and other consumer electronic equipment to identify faults and operational issues.
- Conduct diagnostic testing to locate specific electronic faults, malfunctions and performance problems.
- Repair faulty wiring and electronic components, including LCD/OLED screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, microphones, NFC modules, buttons and other hardware components.
- Carry out motherboard-level repairs, including micro-soldering, circuit testing and replacement of faulty electronic components.
- Replace damaged, defective or worn electronic equipment components as required.
- Assemble,



adjust and calibrate electronic systems and components to ensure correct operation and performance.
- Inspect repaired devices and conduct quality and functional testing to ensure repairs meet required operational and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate repair records, documenting identified faults, diagnostic findings, components replaced and repair procedures undertaken.
- Provide technical advice to customers regarding electronic equipment faults, repair requirements and appropriate solutions.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised repair workspace and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- A relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or higher, or the agreed equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in electronic equipment servicing, diagnostics and repair.
- Demonstrate experience diagnosing and repairing smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches and other consumer electronic equipment.
- Experience with motherboard-level repairs, micro-soldering, circuit testing and electronic component replacement.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Sound knowledge of electronic components, circuitry, testing equipment and repair procedures.
- Ability to accurately assemble, test and calibrate electronic equipment following repairs.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical faults and repair solutions clearly to customers.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
