Commercialisation Manager – Life Sciences

Location: Brisbane / Gold Coast

Salary: $157,000 - $175,000 plus 17% super

We are seeking an experienced Commercialisation Manager – Life Sciences to join a leading Australian research and higher education organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercialisation professional with a strong understanding of life sciences, biomedical technologies, therapeutics or related research to play a key role in taking research and intellectual property from the lab through to commercial outcomes.

You will work closely with researchers, industry partners, investors and internal stakeholders to identify, develop and execute commercialisation opportunities, including licensing, partnerships, investment and start-up ventures.

The Opportunity

The role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercialisation opportunities across Life Sciences, from early-stage assessment through to deal execution and post-deal management.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Identify and assess recent IP and develop appropriate commercialisation strategies.
- Build and manage a pipeline of commercialisation opportunities across Life Sciences.
- Lead the development and negotiation of licensing, industry partnerships, investments and start-up opportunities.
- Manage IP protection, including patents and related commercialisation activities.
- Develop relationships with industry, investors, researchers and other external stakeholders.
- Identify funding opportunities, including commercialisation grants, proof-of-concept funding and investment.




- Provide commercial advice to researchers and support industry collaboration and research partnerships.
- Lead commercialisation projects from opportunity identification through to execution and ongoing management.
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry, government and academic forums.

About You

You will be an experienced commercialisation professional with a genuine interest in Life Sciences and translating research into real-world impact.

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience in research commercialisation, technology transfer, innovation or business development within Life Sciences.
- A strong understanding of biomedical technologies, therapeutics or related fields.
- Experience commercialising IP through licensing, partnerships, investment or venture creation.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with researchers, industry partners, investors and other senior stakeholders.
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
