The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service while supporting other Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.

Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provide a range of cutting-edge services, staffed by multidisciplinary teams with a broad mix of skills, knowledge and professional backgrounds. These currently include Community Services, Specialised Services, Acute and Sub-Acute Bed Based Services, Access Services and Rural Remote and Indigenous Services.

About the role:

- Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care and work in collaboration with Clinical Lead/Consultant Psychiatrist and Cluster Operational Manager, to ensure safe standards of care.
- Deliver a range of clinical and psychosocial interventions including specialist discipline-specific therapies, counselling, psycho education,



additional therapeutic investigations, and provision of direct strategic support and assistance to children and youth to achieve their goals.
- Participate as a team member in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that contribute to and enhance the delivery of clinical services within the local service area.
- Undertake personal education, professional development and professional supervision.
