Swan Hill Rural City Council is looking for amotivated and community-minded Business Development & Tourism Officer tojoin our Economic and Community Development team. About the Role
In this role, you will deliver Council’seconomic development and tourism initiatives that encourage business growth,attract investment, increase visitation, and strengthen our local economy.
You will:
- Support localbusinesses and tourism operators by providing information, advice andreferrals.
- Build strongrelationships with businesses, industry groups, investors, government agenciesand community organisations.
- Assist witheconomic development and tourism projects that create opportunities for theregion.
- Help identifyand secure grants, funding opportunities, and partnerships.
- Contribute totourism, business, investment attraction, and destination marketing activities.
- Research andprepare business, industry, economic, and investment information.
- Assist withthe implementation of Council's Economic Development Strategy and relatedaction plans.
- Maintainbusiness and economic development information on Council's website.
- RepresentCouncil at industry meetings, networking events, and community forums.
- Use economicand demographic data to support business and investment opportunities.
- Some afterhours and weekend work may be required by mutual agreement
What we are looking for
- Qualificationsin Economics, Business, Marketing, PR or similar (or relevant experience)
- Experiencesupporting business development programs or projects
- Excellentcommunication and relationship-building skills.
- Enjoysworking with a wide range of people and organisations.
- Has strongresearch, administration, and problem-solving skills.
- Is passionateabout helping communities and businesses thrive.

- PermanentFull-Time role with genuine work-life balance
- Approximately$93,830 per annum + 15% superannuation
