Trump Steel is looking for a Junior Trade Sales Person to join our growing team at Yatala.
This is a excellent opportunity for someone who is starting their career in sales or the steel/trade industry and wants to learn from an experienced team while developing valuable skills.
You don't need to know everything about steel — we can teach you the products and the industry. We're looking for someone with a good attitude, willingness to learn and the confidence to deal with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering phone enquiries and assisting customers
- Responding to emails and customer enquiries
- Preparing quotes and entering orders
- Serving customers at the trade counter
- Learning about steel products, sizes and applications
- Building relationships with tradies, builders and the general public
- Following up quotes and customer enquiries
- Working with the warehouse team to organise orders
- Picking and packing orders when required
- Assisting with loading and unloading steel
- Occasionally assisting with deliveries
- Keeping the sales area clean and organised
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and develop new skills
- Friendly and confident when dealing with customers
- Reliable and punctual
- Well presented and professional
- Comfortable using computers
- Good with numbers and attention to detail
- A good communicator
- Able to work as part of a small team
- Happy to get their hands dirty and help out in the warehouse when needed
- Positive,
hardworking and willing to have a go
No previous steel experience is required. Experience in sales, retail, customer service, building supplies or a trade environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
A forklift licence would be an advantage but is not required.
The Role
This is a full-time position based at Trump Steel, Yatala.
The role will give you the opportunity to learn all sides of the business, from dealing with customers and quoting jobs through to understanding steel products and working with our warehouse team.
It's a great position for someone who wants to build a career in trade sales rather than simply looking for a job.
