Treasury Analyst – Derivatives, Product Control & NEM Exposure

It's also a start up, flat structure, no layers between you and the people making the big calls. You'll get genuine exposure to heavy hitters across energy, finance and government.

The role is a hybrid of Product Control (financial products, not project or construction controls) and Treasury Analyst. Contracts are going live now through to 2030, so the derivatives side of this job isn't theoretical, you'll be watching them come to life in real time.

This suits someone early in their derivatives or treasury career looking to specialise, rather than someone already senior in a Product Control or Treasury Manager function.

The role:

- Daily P&L; and risk reporting
- Settlement verification on complex energy contracts




- Valuation support for structured contracts and derivatives
- Investigating anomalies and explaining them to management

Why it's different:

Energy market exposure is about as relevant as it gets right now, and that's only going to grow. You'll be working with contract structures that barely exist anywhere else in the Australian market, giving you exposure most treasury professionals spend a career chasing.

What you'll need:

- 2 to 4 years experience
- Hands‑on exposure to at least one of options, swaps or futures, gained through a trading, market risk, treasury, or settlements function, not just academic or advisory exposure
- Robust Excel and modelling skills
- Genuine curiosity about energy markets and the NEM

Ideal backgrounds include bank Markets, Treasury or Product Control graduate programs, energy trading/settlements desks, or quantitative finance/actuarial degrees with genuine derivatives exposure.
