About the Role
SSP Australia is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our exciting new St. Ali specialty coffee venue at Sydney Airport T2.
This is a unique opportunity for a hospitality leader with a robust specialty coffee background to play a key role in launching St. Ali at The Rocks Precinct.
As Restaurant Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day operation of the venue, inspire and develop the team, and ensure consistently high standards across coffee quality, customer service, product presentation and operational performance.
The role will also have a strong Head Barista focus, with responsibility for supporting coffee quality and consistency, maintaining barista standards, and coaching and developing the coffee team.
We’re looking for a hands‑on hospitality leader who can combine strong venue management skills with genuine expertise and passion for specialty coffee.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Leading by Example: Foster a culture of excellence in service, hospitality, and teamwork.
- Ensuring Operational Excellence: Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth, productive, and high‑quality service.
- Team Development: Train, motivate, and mentor staff to deliver a premium guest experience.
- Cooperative Decision‑Making: Work closely with chefs, bartenders, and front‑of‑house staff to create a cohesive, high‑performing team.
- Brand Ambassador: Ensure the St. Ali standard and reputation are maintained across all aspects of the operation.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager, Café Manager or Senior Barista/Café Leader
- Strong knowledge and genuine passion for specialty coffee, including espresso preparation, coffee quality and barista standards
- Previous experience in a high-volume café,
restaurant or hospitality environment
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams of 5–10
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
- Excellent operational, organisational and time‑management skills
- A hands‑on, positive and professional approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and lead by example
