The Library is seeking a high-performing leader to fill the ongoing role of Assistant Director-General, Collaboration (SES Band 1).

As a member of the National Library Executive, the Assistant Director-General is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the Collaboration Branch, which enables national collaboration across the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) sector and delivers some of Australia’s most significant digital cultural services including the Library’s high profile Trove service.

Leading a number of diverse programs, partnerships and services you will engage with senior stakeholders across government, cultural institutions, academia and the broader community to diversify the breadth and depth of the library’s digital services and community.

You will provide strategic advice, steward major investments and drive innovation in digital access, discovery and engagement. Success in this role requires a robust understanding of Australian history, society, politics and culture,



combined with the ability to apply this knowledge in a national collection's discovery context.

As an SES leader, you will demonstrate the APS-wide DRIVE leadership behaviours and embody the APS Values.

Through visible leadership and strategic influence, the Assistant Director-General, Collaboration will help shape the future of Australia's national digital cultural infrastructure, connecting communities with Australia’s collections, stories and voices.
