OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
- Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Program Director, Director of Pupil Services, or Director of Early Childhood Educational Services

JOB GOAL: To provide occupational therapeutic services for disabled students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist students by improving, developing or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation.




- Assist students by improving their ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost.
- Assist students by preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function.
- Continue to further education by participating in staff development as required.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adheres to valuable safety practices.
- Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, eleven, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor.
